Female enlightened master Rajini Menon on the inner voice and mind noise

Rajini Menon is a modern enlightened sage who attained enlightenment just through adhering to virtuous conduct and obedience to inner voice or conscience. I had described about her in this thread...

In the below article Rajini Menon explains on distinguishing between the inner voice and mind noise...

https://rajiniji.com/whatislife/

Quote:
The most righteous act is what your inner voice or inner conscience, manasakshi, tells you and not what your mind tells you.

How do you differentiate between the true inner voice and the minds outer voice? If you are served a bowl of apples and a dish of sweets, and if you are diabetic with a craving for sweets, your mind will pull you towards eating the sweets, but your inner voice will tell you to go for the apples.

I wonder on the source of impulse that permits those who have imbibed the truth to commercialise transmissions they now offer.

If they are indeed enlightened, a mechanism should be there to transmit their teachings worldwide to whoever will benefit from it.

If there is no cheap, inexpensive way to transmit it, books and websites and other platforms can be created for the same though they may cost money.

Emperor Ashoka's wealth and resources was one of the reasons Buddha's teachings spread around the world, and was not confined to India alone like Jainism.

easy enough. In my view everyone wants an 'in' with other people. It comes in a lot of strange forms these days but really people are just social and need each other to communicate with/support/be supported/etc... the same way they need water or sunshine or food or shelter....

a lot of our problems come because when people start understanding about that they often try to get more and then more and then more. But each person who does that places limitations on themselves and those around them in terms of how things have to remain so that they can keep getting their fix. People think well that is just normal life playing out but really, it seems like those above us see this as a HUGE problem for us. Like maybe it is the number one concern and any amount of suffering caused that we will go on and on about resenting, is worth it to try to take some of it away again?

Anyway politics for example can be viewed as a study in how different factions with different ideas of how to achieve that goal are in an endless tug of war...

That is a why a lot of people who think they have learned something eventually go commercial, they've got a 'hook' that they think will give them more of that 'in'. Yeah there is some amount of truly wanting to help too I guess, but when you are on that path you haven't yet learned that the best way to help sometimes is just to shut up and stand on the sidelines.

The problem with commercialization in this current reality is that once you take it on and start reaching for 'money' you become a hypocrite, because the desire for more money flies in the face of the really deep truths.... but even when you finally understand for sure that that is the case you find it very hard to stop anyway.

Loneliness is no fun at all....
