Insane people don't worry about insanity, the majority don't even realize they are thinking outside the box so heavily. they think we are all insane and they are normal.
I don't think humans can be insane, because our identity extends beyond rationality. when we do something "insane" it's because we want to express our self which has momentarily extended beyond reason. Why did Jesus sacrifice himself? There is no rationality or reason behind altruism, we are the reason with our free will and choices, and when we listen to our inner self we are "guided" by/to warm feelings.
