This makes a lot of sense to me. I've been trying to make sense of something that's happened to me in recent years - where I literally so much feel like I have been transformed into a different person, and no longer identify with the person I was, at all. But this is the result of some intense work I've done (re-integration with lost parts of myself, a type of soul retrieval work, etc). I'm definitely still the same person. But for a while, I did wonder, because it was just that weird and intense.

Attachments do not fully invade the body. Usually they are like parasites, draining the body of vital resources. When an entity is able to invade the body and exert some control/ownership directly over the body, it becomes a possession. Note that the original inhabitant remains in the body even if it loose all control.
Only when the original inhabitant leaves, is removed, or is ejected do they become a Walk-in.

I agree with this.
As far as walk in.. they change the body in some agreement. its not an invasion.
To my understanding. walkin comes into the body and the "old" one leaves the body so there is nothing with possession. its like swapping cars.. but the older owner doesnt return
