Maybe the solution to it is in my own words: ' "Fullness" is more attractive to me than "emptiness" '.

@ kralaro ~ we are so addicted to thoughts that we cannot imagine being self-aware in vibrance minus thought forms. In fact, we may venture to suggest that perhaps all thoughts have their origin in ego or identity. Now that by itself is not a bad thing, provided the ego and its functions of thought and senses are instrumentalised, meaning we, as formless consciousness or let us provisionally say, soul or Self, we are constantly registering the arising and subsiding of thoughts and emotions in the body apparatus, which we are not. Looking at it thus, like a witness or observer to body, we are empty and yet the emptiness is energised by kundalini, chi or Holy Spirit, whatever we wish to term it as ~ God’s breath, bringing about fullness* (*the degree of energy imbibed varies from person to person).

Minus thoughts, where is ego? It does not exist. We can see this every day while shifting fro the waking state to the dream state to the deep sleep state. What is deep sleep? It is subjective awareness, that is to say, a singularity. That is why we don’t recall what it is when we ‘wake up’ back in duality. However, if we are able to remain in silence frequently, we see the light of Self or our true being in singularity, the same as deep sleep or say, the translucent void of humming motionlessness or perhaps the heart of God … it depends. In any offering, depending upon ‘penetration’, there is no ego, identity, personality. What is, is one and we are it.

Ah, but perhaps these musings have gone in a direction other than what you were discussing about silence.

In my opinion,
What Miss Hepburn said and what Anandamayi Ma said both are true because of nuance of what forgetfulness of God means. If thinking of God is a drag for anyone then this feeling of drag, crying about having to think of God, isn't God, whereas joy is God. Living a beautiful life like Miss H pointed, is God. Vivekananda said "The greatest sin is to think yourself weak". It all aligns with each other.

I have a problem with superlatives...I get why people use them but they are not true always....the 'greatest' sin ...weakness?
C'mon, Vivekananda.
Sorry - do I challenge that statement, yes....lol, because I have the confidence and strength to!!!
I don't feel weak!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Miss Hepburn, the God you love is the greatest, most powerful, most compassionate, most loving, beyond the reaches of human praises
