Purpose of pointed hats
I did a bit of googling on the origin of the iconic witches hat and I think pointed hats came all the way back and plausibly way before the Etruscan civilization. I couldn't find out where the brim comes from. It may have been added a millennia later to suit women more, but that's speculation. It seems a lot of people on the web don't know what they are talking about. There are coins that depict the Goddess Diana wearing a pointed hat and they are associated with rituals so I don't think the medieval people invented them. What do you think the purpose of pointed hats are?

Maybe it is like that idea about pyramids, that they are to channel down universal / divine energies?

Is there maybe some connection with the Eleusinian Mysteries? I really don't know, and am only guessing.
The pointed hat may also denote something to do with the Crown chakra?

Witches hat, cauldron, familiar
The pointy hat is for visibility in a crowd of people to sell their wares.
The cauldron was for brewing beer ( their wares ) yup women were the original brewers of beer.
The familiar aka Cat kept mice and rats from destroying the crop used to brew beer.

From what I know the pointed witches hat represents the cone of power, the energies being raised within the circle and then directed upward and outward towards a specific goal. So it basically represents the movement of magic.
