Here's a method I've used. As an example we'll use the heart chakra. Where exactly is it?

Use a pic/description to approximately locate it and use your finger to point to it. Now relax that arm. You should notice your finger starts moving in circles. It's following the stream of the chakra's energy flow.

If you're directly on center of the chakra, your finger will not move or will barely move. If you're off even just a little, your finger will move with the flow. You can do this method with all chakras on the body and even the ones you can reach above your head or between your feet and knees.

As has been noted, the 7 or 12 chakras people talk about are just the main ones. There are chakras all over the place tho.

Another interesting thing is you'll notice the 7 all move clockwise and the others in between the 7 move counterclockwise.

the 8th is at the back and base of the head. all chakras are connected to a gland. the carotid gland is the anchor for this chakra.

after that, the 8th crates a bridge to the spirit. so the next set is in the finer bodies/spirit bodies.

the double names chakras are the clue. the root and base are two separate chakras. one will look at the lives gone by/spirit. one is the base of this life.

the sacral/pelvic are two also. one for spirit one for material. the same is true for the brow and third eye.
