This ^.
Thank you Miss Hepburn for highlighting the single most near enemy of being authentic. These days I feel many people confuse authenticity with a need or idea of being unique and special. (more special than another).
Not many speak about the authenticity of needing to feel secure, the need to somehow fit in with those close to you. Somehow mistaking being authentic as standing outside the people many call sheep.
Anyway. Well said and thank you.

I always want 100% real. I would much rather be offended than lied to. I respect honestly over feelings. I can get over being offended. I can't get over being lied to. I see fake as a lie.

I think you will find my friend, when you are "...real..." as you put it, it is anything but boring. <-- You may even want to consider using that as your gauge. Your gauge on how "...real..." you are becoming.
Gd luck and have fun with it!

We always growing and evolving- we can perceive our former self’s as fake and grow from that perspective.. some of my ideas were fake because I was living in fear- fear and other emotions alike can impact how real we are.. imo

well i think impressing people isn't important... but trying to be real isn't either. for me right now it seems better just to leave others to form their own opinions of me rather than try to get them to make me happy be saying words about me that I actually like...
that said i don't much like the idea of trying to be fake...
