I had exactly the same experience with chopsticks. I also felt it had to be a skill that I knew before coming here this time.

On some level, I believed in reincarnation from around the age of 15 on. My children gave evidence of having lived past lives at very early ages. Like many here, traditional religious teachings didn't ring true for me. I had many dreams that seemed to indicate past lifetimes - not typical dreams, but dreams of an historical nature where I was "in" the body of the protagonist, not an observer. Then, I tried past life regression, and remembered many lives, including my name, dates of birth and death, and the names of relatives. I was able to research the more recent ones on ancestry.com. There were identities recorded that matched my memories. I don't think faith in the Divine, whatever your definition of "divine", precludes belief in reincarnation. They complement and reinforce each other. The Universe wastes nothing. Why should a soul be less precious than a blade of grass, or a drop of water?

It just made sense to me. After reading the first law of thermodynamics and observing the cyclic nature of everything.
It was weird actually, because I was raised as an indoctrinated Christian but the first time I heard of reincarnation I just went with it not realizing for ages that it wasn't really Christian..
it just felt too natural.
So its a mixture of inner knowing and just plain logic.

Yes a lot of pieces gradually fall into place that affirm reincarnation.. Being able to access soul memory is one of them.
Same with chopsticks. I never even thought about that. And I always wondered why everyone else in my family hated them and to me it felt so natural.. makes sense now!

Existence itself is a cycle.
This is why reincarnation is true.
It is no different then us drinking the water that the dinosaurs drank.
