I'm getting muddled up between my Elohim, Yahweh and I AM.

Are you saying the Hebrew Bible, which uses the Hebrew word that sounds in Hebrew Elohim, is wrong?

Look at the first creation account, starting with the first verse (Genesis 1:1). It uses the Hebrew word that sounds like Elohim in Hebrew through out that account.

.If you look, I tied Elohim with being the I AM.

.I also have contested that certain words were translated from Hebrew wrongly. For example, there appears to be no word for Elohim in other languages.
Elohim should have been translated like Amen got translated.

This might help you.

In the creations, two entities are mentioned. In Hebrew, one entities sounds in Hebrew like Elohim. The other entity sounds in Hebrew like Yahweh.

Elohim can be anybody or better yet, every body whereas Yahweh appears as a singular entity.

Elohim got translated erroneously as God and Yahweh got translated erroneously as LORD.

But then I provided .EXODUS 3:14 which might help you. It reads:

"God said to Moses, “I AM who I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”"

Where it reads God in this verse, in Hebrew it is read as something like Elohim. Just replace God with Elohim. As far as I am concerned, that is how it should be translated.

Honza,

Forget Elohim and Yahweh….they are distractions. As for I AM and assuming it is self identity of some sort think of the most essential description or identification of God. For me two things come to mind: God is Spirit, God is love….all with a wealth of Scripture and personal experience to support that understanding. And, by the way, those 2 things give us access to God and participation with Him. The completion of this journey is called the unitive state……

BigJohn,

Is I AM your translation of Elohim ? If not what is your translation ? That would help us understand your focus on that one word…….
