Even though I'm not a massive American Football fan , my thoughts and prayers are with Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills team who collapsed on the field after a collision, had CPR , rushed to hospital and in a critical condition .

I have never heard of him. I checked the wiki, and he also played for ....
So that's why you love him.

A friend texted me - I was able to watch the stadium Live being devastated...the News people were so solemn and stunned.
Not like hearing about it this morning...had to be 'part' of the whole thing happening...wow. :(

Terribly sad events missH . No - one wants to witness that. I just hope and pray he is ok. This has happened several times within sport , the last one being Erikson in euro cup football and thankfully he was ok and played in the world cup.
It is a condition that seems to affect young fit healthy men.
The first time it was brought to my attention was in the early 90's . You probably won't have heard of Terry Yorath , footballer and then manager , his daughter Gabby is a well known football pundit over here . But in the early 90,s Terry was have a kick around with his eldest son Daniel ( age 15) in their back garden and it happened to him. An underlying heart condition. Collapsed and died, just like that, and so young . Terribly sad. |

There was Muamba who was out for about three hours-they named the Bolton Sally Army hostel after him.This thread got me thinking about those motorbikes they used to race on ice with big spikes in the wheels,wonder if they still do that?

Yes indeed.... The lovely Fabrice Muamba who fortunately survived. That seemed like a miracle. I don't think he has played since , and his children have been tested and they carry that same gene as he does.
( Motorbikes on ice with spikes in tyres ??????...... You tripping or wot ???? LOLOL.... Never heard of them !!!! ....)

Pleased to see that Damar Hamlin is responding well in ICU and wanted to know who "won " the game....bless his soul.
They won't play the postponed game again. I can only assume it will be declared a draw .
This lovely young man, that has done so much for under- privelleged children will be gutted the game did not conclude because of him !!!!!

Im pretty much addicted to watching Formula One racing!!!
Ive been watching F1 since 1984....in fact, i watched Senna almost win the Monaco GP in his very first F1 race in the lowly Tollman running in the rain!
(I predict Mercedes will be back in the running when the season starts back up in March)
