So why are we discussing what appears to be, how bad the Jewish deities are?
Does that open 'the door' to talk 'bad' about other deities?
Just wondering?

It seems to me, I might be the only one who is talking positive about the Jewish deities, and it seems I am the only one that seems to have used the scriptures, you provided, and then tied them to an important aspect for Christians that was foreshadowed in this Jewish account.

From my perspective, if those events didn't happened as discussed in Isaiah 45, the Jewish religion might not be around today like it is.

I look at it that for Jews, that event was a 'miracle' which also provides hope for Christians today that the same type of miracle will 'be done' for them.

Exactly the same as the Patriarchs....

When you read God in the Old Testament, In Hebrew, the word used is pronounced something like Elohim. Elohim resonates with "I AM" and if you delve in to that Hebrew word, it seems everything is Elohim.

When you read Lord in the old Testament, that word was something like Yahweh.

I believe Elohim and Yahweh are the most common names mentioned in the Hebrew Bible but when translated into English, are rarely used. The New Jerusalem Bible, which is a Catholic Bible, used Yahweh but not Elohim.

But then if one believes in such things as talking in tongues it would not seem bad at all. Instead seen as a good thing to experience. If one believes in hell and teaches that to their kids, they believe they are helping their kids.
Btw, I speak in Tongues...and love it (in private). I used to be a Charismatic Christian.
Actually, I do think it may be necessary for some adults to 'think' there is a Hell...they need 'fear' to keep them
from robbing me and banks.
While others just need love and wisdom to know not to rob me or banks.

That's why I think there is a place for those Fire and Brimstone preachers...
Me? Give me a loving preacher!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

The Revised New Jerusalem Bible uses the word "LORD" in small capitals.
This to conform with instructions from the Congregation for Divine Worship....

I did not mention the Revised New Jerusalem Bible.

I mentioned the New Jerusalem Bible.

Wikipedia has an article on that Bible and one of the points it mentions is:

"Like the Jerusalem Bible, the New Jerusalem Bible makes the uncommon decision to render God's name, the Tetragrammaton in the Jewish scriptures, as Yahweh rather than as "Lord", in 6,823 places in the NJB Old Testament."

As for the Revised New Jerusalem Bible, Wikipedia makes this comment:

"Whereas The New Jerusalem Bible and its predecessor The Jerusalem Bible featured the use of "Yahweh" some 6800+ times to render the Tetragrammaton, The Revised New Jerusalem Bible uses the word "LORD" in small capitals."

If you look in a Hebrew Bible, you will see the Hebrew words for Elohim and Yahweh being used a lot of times.

I personally feel that the Hebrew Bible supersedes The Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

It seems to me that some bible passages indicate that Jesus was not God whilst others say that he was. In fact in the famous "ye are gods" verse Jesus appears to be stating that we are all God, not just himself.

Maybe there is no contradiction here. Maybe Jesus sometimes felt he was God and sometimes doubted this. This would be showing Jesus as utterly human as well as divine which seems to be the case as I see it.

I do believe in the "ye are gods" verse. I believe that I am God just like Jesus said. But I have human doubts. Sometimes I feel separate from God. That only God is good and that I am not good at all. Sometimes I feel that there is no God and that I am a victim living in a purely materialistic universe. At these times it is comforting to remember that Jesus himself may have had similar doubts in spite of all the miracles that he performed.

If Jesus, with his miracles, had doubts it is no wonder that humans who don't perform such feats have doubts concerning their God nature.

"Good can exist without evil, whereas evil cannot exist without good," A thought provoking insight from St Thomas Aquinas.... Imo.
