Question on 2 Tarot cards in reading ..

I've just done a year reading for 2016 for which I use basically all my decks.
Now there's 2 Tarot cards and I do not get their meaning in the positions.

Before I post the question: general gist of the reading is that if I leave behind distrust and fear of showing my real power and strength, things will start to happen (Fox 14 and Scythe 10).
Other cards enhance this. Also several cards that say that there is guidance, that I don't have to go it alone.
I will have to open up for that guidance, so I see it (1 card saying this was Horse King 42, Wisdom of Hidden Realms.)

Anyhow: Theme of 2016 is the Fool 0 (theme is always MA card).
What works AGAINST this: Cups 8
What works positive on the theme: Swords 6

Now there's my problem right there: How can Cups 8 work against it? In this sense the feel of Swords 6 is almost the same? So what's the difference?

Is Cups 8 telling me to not leave rash and leave everything behind that's familiar? (I do want to move away from my area, and apart from that also finally start manifesting, doing what I came here to do etc.)
So how does Cups 8 not help me in this?

Swords 6 is also about leaving, although it is more "go with the flow" and with guidance. Is that the difference?

Another interesting thing is, that I immediately saw moving house in Swords 6. But that may be wishful thinking.
And, if I'm gonna write a soap here, lol, I AM going on holiday over water, to the States, in Feb 2016.
Also, for love I got "Honeymoon" (Romance Angels), which could mean I meet someone on holiday (I'm single, and hoping, haha), and ... there's water in that card as well?!

Another peculiar thing: Whenever I use the Wisdom of the Hidden Realms, I always seem to get Arrow Master and Horse King, I got a subscription on them two! I got the Arrow Master reversed, it made me laugh out loud when I saw that rascal again.
I'll have to read up on what Pisces told me when he came up in a reading she did for me.

Anyhow, mostly looking for feedback on the Cups 8 & Swords 6 -- Robin Wood Tarot.
Help please!

Cheers!

8 of Cups as what is working against this, could it be walking away/leaving something unfinished emotionally/spiritually? Going off to find the next challenge before the current one is completed?

6 of Swords as what works positive in the theme, willing to strike out to achieve your ambitions? The ability to deal with any mental struggles that allow you to move forward with your thinking. Or it could be your holiday opening up new possibilities.

That's just my 2 pennies worth, if it helps

I'm trying to find the reading with Hidden Realms I did. I'm sure it was telling you to keep your focus on only one area, something about 'shooting arrows with no real aim at the target' (I think). I'm off to hunt it out now.

Hihi, so I'm not the only one who keeps their readings on their PC and/or journal, haha.
I already found it, thanks for your effort!!
I tend to copy/paste all the readings I receive and save them. I often do read them again to see what came true.

It was on my Soulpath & not succeeding with things, 19 Aug this year.

Thanks for the feedback on the Tarot cards. I'll have to read through it again.
You could be on to something there with the Cups 8. Hmphh...

I'm not terribly familiar with either of the decks used, but here are my 2 cents:

1) Both cards are "leaving/moving on" cards

2)... but both cards have different vibes IMHO. eg I see 6 of Swords as a "in the present" kind of moving on card - the figures know they don't really know what's ahead, but aren't second-guessing their desire or need to move on. They're putting every bit of effort they have into moving forwards.

On the flip side, I've always seen 8 of Cups as a regretful kind of depart - lots of sighing and 'I wish circumstances were different' type stuff. Head and feet moving, heart sort of locked in for the ride but may be an unwilling passenger.

So in summary: For you, perhaps you just need to "less think, more do"

Thank you both! It really helps when other ppl give me feedback :)

I had another good feel/look at the cards. And I cannot shake the gut feeling that Cups 8 in this particular case means that it's kind of a rash departure. Determined, but not well thought out at all. Venturing into the unknown that is daunting to say the least.

Swords 6 feels far calmer. Better prepared. Also not knowing exactly where I'll end up, but just really well equipped and prepped for the journey.

Cups 8 feels more like bolting off on a whim, and then lord knows where I put my foot in. I don't mind though, I'm off! Then I break my leg, oh dear, now what?
That kind of thing.

Swords 6 makes me feel calm. Not any less determined, but level headed, knowing that whatever will happen, I can and will handle it.

I know that's not the original meanings of the card(s), but it's what really jumps out.

Oh and I think the "Less think, more do" is indeed applicable. I can linger, stall, when I need to make big decisions ...

Re: "I know that's not the original meaning of the cards" - hahaha! Girlfriend, you're already in intuition > classical definition territory. We're not going to shoot you for listening to how the cards make you feel. We're more likely to bake you a cake

Me likes cake

I will have to keep that card -Cups 8- in mind though... I sometimes do have the tendency to think and think and think about something and then decide to sod it and just go for it. Which comes down to randomly chucking something at the wall, and wait and see what's going to stick. And of course feeling very disappointed when nothing sticks.

This is related to that reversed Arrow Master. I think I have to sign up for his archery classes
