I'm not sure that is a good idea because oil is very calorie dense. 2 tblsp fish oil is about 250 calories. It's probably better to have a bigger snack that is 250 calories, but much more satiating, perhaps a boiled egg smashed on a slice of toast, which is only about 160 calories, and a pretty satisfying snack.

The OP's recommendation is probably very light on protein, which durimng a weight loss phase will result is a high percentage of muscle loss, when you really want to be losing fat. Indeed lean meat like chicken should be the focus rather than the aside, and you should get some protein in every meal.

Lean chicken is a good low calorie protein source, so meals like chicken breast with veges - you can't go wrong.

If you can also do some weight training to help keep your muscle mass, then practically every pound you lose will be fat; not muscle.

I am not obese, but within normal range of BMI. But the way I maintain normal weight is I eat smaller portions of pretty much whatever I want. I eat my dinner on a small salad plate or coffee saucer to control portion sizes.

To me it's been about changing lifestyle little by little so there's no strain on the will-power.
Substitute whole foods and organic for unnecessarily processed things where you can: white sugar, white bread, white rice.
Cut down portion sizes.
Little by little give up things you know cause weight gain.
Get good exercise to improve your metabolism, circulation and so on.
Affirm that you will lose weight.
Affirm that you'll develop an aversion for food that you don't need.

Diets are useless. They're usually timed so when time's up there's a risk of 'going back to normal'! perhaps putting on even more weight.

I sometimes watch Dr Nowzaradan and I'm amazed at some of the rubbish people put in their mouths in volume.

Intermittent fasting works well! Can be googled.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I am back to eating smaller meals (almost like snack size) that keeps me going.
