You never hear tracks by some of the 60's and 70's bands, but hear loads of track by others from the same era. It is a mystery. Who remembers 10cc? They were huge in their day, but have vanished into obscurity. The Who never seem to get played either. There are others which are totally overlooked these days.

On the music channels on Freeview they play obscurer bands from the 60s&70s as some of the programs were a mixed bag, there are other channels to if memory serves eg BBC3&4 and RedButton plus a Sky channel besides the music channels that play concerts and festivals, in fact months back when at my sisters I saw The Who were on for some hours in concert on one of the channels.

Podshell... Yes they do, Ive seen some of those channels with long forgotten bands/ artists.

Honza, it's true, we had SO many great bands in the 60's and 70's .
Referring back to what Pod said , if you have a Freeview box, sky arts on channel 36 show loads of great concerts in the evening and into to early hours. ( Not everyday but a lot ).
It used to be channel 11 but they recently moved it to 36, so it's always worth a scroll across the guide bar.

But back to Elton John, and I asked husband if he remembered "live like horses" and he didn't so I played him it and he loved it , he couldn't understand why it wasn't a massive hit .
Like Pod, he likes Sacrifice and I know one of my sons loves 'your song' .
I also liked 'circle of life '.

Sacrifice is a beautiful song. I also like the song dedicated to Princess Diane... Candle in the Wind.

And there's Nikita, which is a funny song!

Just looking at the paper Beeb2&4 For Glast can't see anything for Monday was sure they had extended it to four days some years back Fri Morn to Monday night, there was someone moaning again about the price of £355, but I reckon thats a bargain even for three days as you get camping too an especialy if there are many acts on you like, compare that to the price of a concert ticket for a few hours, think Elton's played there too.On edit-yes last year and did 21 songs including some of those mentioned.

Yes I saw that .
Thank you ... I will try and watch on catch up.
If they sing "fix you " I will go to pieces !!!

By the way, very poignant memory of "sacrifice " with your brother.

They may have a playlist of their set online.May be best to just see what comes.
I saw Echo and the Bunnymen at Glastonbury and spoilt it by hoping they would get to Seven Seas but they never included it.

There's also a new channel I just read about called 'That's memories' that has some old music on..my sis retued hers and said it comes up ön 58&71 but only the 71is on air the other says coming soon, she said that it came up at first saying TV had to be connected to net , hers isn't but when she checked again and it comes on, I was thinking it would be similar to TalkingPictures which she likes but apparently not, I see the film Django Unchained is oo tonight which I enjoyed.
