Lady of my Dreams

I met a lass in days gone by
and though it sounds unreal;
I’m sure I’d met her somewhere else:
it’s something I can feel.

At first when I gazed in her eyes,
I went beyond her sight;
and gently touched her soul so she:
would understand my plight.

I’d fallen deep in love with her,
the moment that we met;
I cannot clear her from my mind:
of that ~ I’ve no regret.

I can’t help think that we were joined,
within a former life;
I was her man and she of course:
was my sweet loving wife.

so why were we to meet again,
in this ~ a different world;
are there some distant mysteries:
about to be unfurled.

If we were really bonded thus,
in years before this time;
there must be things we should have done:
although that seems sublime.

Did we split up before the end,
our contract thus unfinished;
or did our love within those years:
become somewhat diminished.

Quite naturally, I need to know,
because tis plain to see;
there is a distance twix our souls:
why does she not love me.

It’s just as if she’s half way there,
but cannot find the grace;
to open up her heart to me:
so we can thus embrace.

I must sit back and bide my time,
and not play with her mind;
she might decide to wander off:
and leave me far behind.

I love her so - with all my heart,
she don’t love me it seems;
But I will wait forever for:
The Lady of my Dreams.

Beautiful and sad, at the same time , this Lady of your Dreams .......

I can almost hear music with this one, as I read it.....most unusual ! Not a specific song, yet there is music playing in the background.
