I saw Shailene Woodley in real life a few months ago and now I'm a big fan. She first popped up on my radar a year or so ago when she came out as bisexual. It's not every day that a gorgeous young TV and movie star does that so I noticed. Then she stared in a big Hollywood science-fiction movie called
Divergent which is set to have 3 sequels all with Shailene Woodley as the main character. So I really took notice of her then. But what really made me become the fan I am now was when I saw her in real life. It's a funny story because it was the last thing I was expecting.
I was in Hawaii at a live concert at what can only be described as a hippie festival. But nothing big only a few hundred people at most. And I was looking for someone in the crowd while everyone else was focused on the stage. Then I noticed that there was an incredibly cute girl with short hair watching me while everyone else had their eyes on the stage. Just that was enough to get my attention. I looked at her for a second and there was something familiar about her but I kept walking until she was out of view. But my mind started reeling because I knew I knew her, and then it hit me who it was. So I had to turn around and do a double take to be sure. I walked back and looked and there she was and she turned to look at me again. It was Shailene Woodley with short hair and she was looking right at me in this crowd of people. It was surreal. I found her really attractive so I just smiled at her really big. But at that point she didn't smile back, she just turned her attention back towards the stage. So I decided not to bother her and left since I didn't want to seem like some crazed fan.
It was an exhilarating experience though and when I got home I looked her up online and found out that she's a really cool person. She likes hiking and being in nature. She supports labeling of GMOs. She loves Hawaii and giving shaka. She's interested in spirituality and helping people. She loves hugging people.
She's into herbs and natural healing. I also made the connection that I had seen her in a movie when she was 13 and that I thought she was great even back then. And of course she is an absolutely beautiful girl.
I'm not going to go so far as to say it's a crush but now I'm a huge fan and I've seen most of her movies. I still haven't seen
Secret Life of the American Teenager, but maybe some day I'll watch that too. And I can't wait for her next movie to come out this spring.
And I hope to bump into her again some day and get to know her more!
