I wonder if songs popping into your head are because...
... someone you're "connected" to is listening to that song?
I had an extremely random song for me pop into my head earlier that I have honestly not heard in years. Out of the blue. I had the thought that what if when something like that happens, it's because someone you're connected to somehow - a soulmate, close friend, family member, etc - is listening to that song or is thinking about it? What do you think?

Possibly when it's random or a song you don't really know. But, I'm the type of person who gets songs stuck in her head constantly. It's actually really maddening. They're songs I've heard recently usually, and repetitious.

Haha I am, too! But I really don't know this particular song. I've heard it before - not in a long time - but it's a song I've really never listened to. And not one I've ever heard on the radio. It's weird.

That is weird. One time I woke up with a song blaring in my head, and I had never listened to the song really. Like maybe it had been playing in the background of a store while I was shopping or something. But it was blaring in my head after a nap one day. I even had to look up the lyrics to identify the song. So, you never know.

Part of the measure of progress through my mundane life, the everyday life of getting on with things: romance, activities, events, is measured in music and ironically, pop songs (while my musical background is more art than pop).
Hearing or suddenly recalling a song takes me back....

I get songs like that (woke up with one this morning actually) but I've found that the other persons are probably not listening to it, our mind acts as a filter or translator if you like for the extra-sensory perceptions we receive.
So the song is just a song you've heard and best describes what they are feeling, they might not have even heard that song themselves.

Its best to wake up singing rather than crying

Yes it's possible but in my experience a random song in my head is nearly always a message to pay attention to the lyrics. I generally find they are very apt to a feeling or situation going on at that time.

I thought about that, too. I checked the lyrics but they really don't make any sense to my life right now. Anytime I have a song stuck in my head, it's always either a song I've recently heard, or there's a message in the lyrics. This one doesn't seem to fall into either of those categories.
After I vocalized this thought to someone else, the song went away. Very weird.

My cousin wakes up with her "song of the day". It can be really funny - the other day it was "God Is Watching Us" - Bette Midler, and she said, "Ughh, why this song?" and I said, "Because God is watching us." ;) lol
I'll have random songs pop into my head as well, either before I fall asleep, just as I'm waking up. Sometimes I don't even recognize them, but they're beautiful. Today, I had my own song (I'm a musician) followed by that heart-swelling feeling. Sometimes if I'm meditating, I'll hear a lovely song and it's followed by a vision. Music is harmonic energy, vibrations. It affects our light bodies. :)
